It was a memorable gathering of youths, as the Leverage Conference; an annual leadership conference which brings together young leaders from several sectors to share insights and principles of personal leadership to empower them in the maximization of their potential as they are committed to the transformation of the nation stormed Lagos.
The third edition Leverage which held on the 28th of October 2017 at the Ivory Music Building, 13 Alhaji Ashabi Cole CBD, Alausa, Lagos Nigeria, saw a gathering of young Africans discuss the theme, “True North”. The conference examined the core values every young Africans should focus onto ensure the development and transformation being sought on the continent.
The Keynote speaker Segun Aderogba, CEO; Ceenai Multimedia who spoke on leadership shared personal experiences, with emphasis on the importance of values. His advice; “Value is real money. What are your values?
While addressing the issue of entrepreneurship during his keynote session, Chinonso Ogbogu, Founder of The Incubators Africa said, “Entrepreneurs do not complain they take advantage by providing solutions. You do not succeed in life out of pity, you succeed out of principles.”
Other speakers who were on the panel were, Olorunfunmi Adebajo (ED, Kindle Africa Empowerment Initiative), Dayo Samuel (Lead Consultant, Audacity2Lead), Teajay Chunu (Idea & Brand Strategist), and Eniola Adeniji, who is a Serial Entrepreneur. They equally shared practical insights on various issues that were raised during the panel discussion from their wealth of experience.
The convener Abraham Ologundudu opined that, “Every young African has a role to play in the development of Africa. Hence, the way forward for us is that individuals begin to see themselves as a subsystem of a supra system. The transformation we seek is a function of collective productivity of individuals.”
